A Dog's Hunger

A Dog's Hunger

A Poem by peacefrog

"What do i have to offer?"
yelled the dog with a snark.
"I can't cease my eating
or quiet my bark."
He spoke with true meaning,
straight from the heart.
A very worthy fella,
blunt from the start.
So I confided with his response
and patted his soft head,
pulled out a loaf from my pocket,
sharing the fresh bread.
He acknowledged with a smile
and began to eat some more,
but he was a hungry fella
and nearly devoured the floor.
So I wished him well
and he was on his way
then caught sight of a rodent
and went back to play.
