Slay Your Monster

Slay Your Monster

A Poem by gardens and graveyards

Stand up and
clean yourself off.

Don’t waste your time
wallowing in
self pity.

I’m not
worth it.

Instead,
rearrange your feelings
from this heartache
until they spell out
a contempt you can
clench your fist
to.

Take what is
catching your breath
and choking tears out of your
sweet green eyes
and twist it
into an evil that
inspires you to manifest it
into some
loathsome work of art
that exists only to
slander me.

Turn me into a cancer
you can’t believe
you beat,
and swear you’ve
never been felt better.

Because if I could follow
my own advice,
I would have
never needed
you
to begin
with,
and you would never
have needed to
go through this
at all.

Thanks so much! Glad you liked it :)
I like the way you spaced out the letters, it gives a great feel of drama.
