Far from home and alone

not where I thought I'd be at this time 

I thought it would be different and that I would be glad that he was gone.

But, I'm just alone.

Eloquence in brevity is rare and hard to achieve, but you did it so well with this poem. The last line has a tremendous impact on the reader. Brilliant piece!
