Damn you Phil CollinsA Poem by Jamie BealsSong Lyrics incorporated into a Poem
How can you look me in the eyes,
And no tears or pain starts to arise? You say how much you care, Then why am I always in despair, There is a song that rips me to the core, Leaves me lying a mess on the floor, It says you have no right to ask me how I feel, What is one good reason why to you I should reveal? You are who has hurt me to my soul, With your lies to what was your final goal. It says you have no right to speak to me so kind, When you are the one who chose to leave me behind. You speak to me like you have so much care, To remain attached to you I must not dare. Next, we can't go on holding on to time, So what are we to do in the meantime? Now that we're living separate lives. Love and happiness for both it deprives. Verse two, I held on to let you go, I will do that, but when I just don't know. If you lost your love for me you never let it show, At times you act like you did long ago. There was no way to compromise, Either way our love still dies. So now we are living separate lives. Someday I just might, If I can make it and be alright, Find my self looking in your eyes, But for now we'll go on living separate lives. © 2013 Jamie Beals |
