My Rock

My Rock

A Poem by Jamie Beals

No love in life could ever compare,
To the one who swore he’d always be there,
Every time you find your life in complete despair,
He takes your problems for his shoulders to bear.
He is there for you no matter what it takes,
When your heart breaks, His also aches,
He is there to see you through your mistakes,
And help to dry the tears it makes.
He swore his love first time he laid eyes on you,
And over the years you see it was true,
That with every breath he ever drew,
Was love that he breathed back into you.
He is strong as a rock when you are weak,
He is your voice when you can not speak,
A soft kiss on your cheek,
When times are all too bleak.
He hugs me anytime I am sad,
And listens every time I am mad,
I hope you know how very glad,
I am to be able to call him DAD.
