Sublime

Sublime

A Poem by A. R. Heistand

Could we lift time
For each day foregone
Every breath drawn
As our lives sublime
Away from mist malign
Into the sweetening dawn
From which we’d withdrawn
Minds of grateful lucid shine

Take the journey sentimental
To the keeper of cope
Bathing in instrumental
Mild spirits gentle in hope
In twisted jealousy outdone
We trust the rising sun
