Life is Death

Life is Death

A Poem by patrickdoromal

our sunset has come,
it will not rise

a soul so lonesome,
it meets its demise

all laughter - drained
a heart that cries

for a life that's maimed
by all the lies

i  understand,
with leaving breath

that for this man,
life is death

Very nice poem, a bit confusing though because you start it with 'our sunset has come' implying the death of multiple, but end it with "for this man, life is death". Did the character die? Or watch someone else die?

Other than that though I really liked it, it had a really steady and intense beat. I would have loved it it went into further details, it leaves more questions than answers.

This is beautiful. I especially love, "for a life that's maimed by all the lies". You showed great diction that really set the tone.
