Every Man

Every Man

A Poem by patrickdoromal

longing is endless
in this vast open sea
troubled by all that is
and will never be

time is selfish
in this eternal thought
denying my wish
and leaving me naught

respite is elusive
in this cryptic shadow
constantly receding
and giving me sorrow

serenity is belated
in this worn out carapace
finally conceded
and ceding to space
