Night

Night

A Poem by Kati
"

A poem assigned in English that is supposed to portray how I personally feel about night, because apparently it's a theme in Romeo and Juliet.

"

An endlessly-flipping hourglass of the sun and moon raise us from juvenescence.

Dawn greets the weary and the fresh enthusiastically.

With fickle promise of a new day, we revel.

But night, my dear, O night, is a true gem.

How it lulls us with its symphonic trill.

The consistent black of sky and space unite us.

Dazzling stars wink upon aspiring souls from above.

The stark, pale moon gazes down with loving intensity.

A cool blanket of eerie comfort drapes itself over us, until replaced by golden rays.

With hesitancy, we awaken from its sacred presence to once again begin our unknown journey.
