BattleA Poem by Paul WallaceIt is kind of an extended pooem from an earlier one I wrote...I saw him standing in the trees His armor was as dark as night It was shining like a blackened sea I knew that it would be a fight
He pulled out a silver blade With black diamonds encrusted in He started to step out of the shade I felt in my gut that I would never win
I turn to run but stopped to see he was standing there, blocking the road how could he be there in front of me? I felt that this was evil bestowed
I pulled out my sword in turn preparing to battle for life staying alive my only concern tensing for a bitter strife
My foe struck first, quick and hard I blocked the strike just barely I had to stay fully on guard or else my foe would win unfairly
I countered swinging low Trying for the dark knees he swiftly blocked the blow O can God help me please?
We battled hard and long the power shifting We were equally strong My spirits never lifting
Finally I swung a final blow At long last I had him slain After battling to and fro "For light!" I sang
