geese
A Poem by
paul
my mind prefers madness.
it must be that way
madness accumulated
day after day.
geese in the river
geese in the sea
the geese are like me.
they don't want to be
free

I don't want to be free either. Geese are kind. Maybe madness is about being kind. That's what my mind is saying after reading these sublime words.

Interesting thought. Your work always forces my brain to use different neural pathways, which is a GOOD thing!
Love the writing!

Oh, but there is a thin line that separates madness and genius. You strut both worlds. And being free. I don't know whether I am but I still aspire for it.

This is my favorite! But of course, madness *is* my favorite theme. I'm in love with the sing-song Mother Goose vibe. The first two stanzas say it all. It's almost safer to stay on the other side of sane, it's somehow comforting. And likening it to geese? So clever. The last line leaves me with a bit of a haunted feeling. But then I re-read it and smiled all over again.

madness seems to be the homeostatic midline of my mind. the accumulated nature of it day after day.. geese-like. and getting free of the madness, would, i am certain, only be a retreat into the prison of the mundane.
