A Poem by paul

planes fly but not
very high

the universe
has a cold laugh

the size of everything.
the thing about worrying
is like waves

never forgiving
the shore
ducks make a splash
bigger than the sun

from here.
buildings loom.
time looms

the otherside
of the universe is just

around the corner
thoughts interrupt
thinking

clouds embrace
impermanance

little lapping waves reflect
the light
of skyscrapers.
infinity begs
respite

planes return

the sun burns
infinity does its
thing
and i can't let go
of my past

that has left me here alone
with my illness

alone with
ten thousand
infinities

.
. submerged in the debris ... of ten thousand infinities ... is a heart that bears it all and bares it all ... for you transcend every last ounce of the universe ... for pouncing on you ... and taking things from you that belonged to you ... and you reign ... like a melancholic monarch ... to whom all subjects have and will always surrender ... for in your magically simple profundity ... lies a magnanimous greatness ... and in your greatness ... a love that beckons all to love ... so that no one alone turns into a stone ... thank you for being you, coach, and writing this spectacular magnum opus that surveys all the dimensions of existence and brings forth the pain and the inherent dilemmas that devastate ... and that too ... in a very absolute kind of isolation ...

this is brilliant!! the waves never forgiving the shore completely made the poem for me - they always return with the tide... coming back to harass the shore - so clever!! and then the last three lines sum it all up perfectly!!!

- this is truly - the shade card of isolation - like serah said - in all its hues and darknesses - there are your words - and in your words - there are all its shades - if one could see - even a millionth of what you see - and then express - a millionth of what and how you can - one would know - that there is a life beyond living and negoatiating - that there are - in fact - ten thousand infinities - that await their absolution - in a stray tear -

Great progression of thought... I think I read this with my mouth hanging open in a most unlady-like way... amazed by each successive group of... and then the end. Powerful poetry.

through the hearts of people we learn of cold laughs...the universe doesn't have time for it...and it is true that our past trails in our wake, but this day is the day that makes our tomorrows...and the thoughts that interrupt thinking are the ones to think about, until we see how they fit the infinite pattern of justice and love...hello paul
