magic on the water

magic on the water

A Poem by paul

magic on the water
the sea's the sky's daughter

the sky for the sea
the sea's the sky's riot

turning into wind
the still air trying

madness at sea
the wind blows it in

madness at sea
madness wins

. oh, absolutely ... when we're at sea ... we experience madness ... it feels like we're lost ... and might never find our way back out of the riots again ... but i think if there's such beautiful poetry ... there's hope for all of us ... here's to hope ... may we never run out of it ... and here's to your beautiful poetry, paul ... may you never run out of it ...

sounds like an angry sea. But I like how you describe that the sea is the sky's daughter and that it is acting up. makes me think of a mother daughter relationship where the daughter throws a tantrum for her own way

I agree with Miss Coral. It took me another read to begin to understand what you are trying to write about, what with all the repetition.

madness is in
sanity is out
i am a gin
you are a lout

i am a gin who has wishes
but they don't come true
i am a gin without a gin
but you already knew

"the sea's the sky's daughter" and "the sea's the sky's riot" were brilliant phrases me thinks. Another wonderful write and a pleasure to read.

The repetition is somewhat confusing at first, when my brains skips ahead and goes "Whaa?" But then I read it again, and actually concentrate (for once), and a picture forms, and it all makes sense.

Another wonderful write.

oh the mania of endlessness - the endlessness of the sea - is as definitive of madness - as madness itself - and there's no denying the victor its due - and serah's right - as she is about all things - here's to the hope that is illuminated in your poetry!
