ghosts don't listen

ghosts don't listen

A Poem by paul

hell is always an option
you can talk to ghosts
but they don't listen
hell is always an option
devils so easy
to find
but they'll take your money
strip your car
leave you alone
in the endless night
and even when the sun finally rises
it will only reveal your hideous scars
inflicted the night before

i have more scars than tattoos...and they are beautiful reflections of an existence not only lived but survived...and suns rise way too soon...in blinks of eye a day has passed from dawn to dark to dawn to dark and so it goes ad infinitum

I love the tone... even and slightly menacing. Devils stealing your car, your soul even. The last line tied it all together and then kicked me right in the stomach. That line really got me... been there, lived that. I love this piece.

yeah - serah's tattoo's a million times more beautiful than mine -
there is an intense beauty about scars and lines and wrinkles and bruises - they're perhaps our maps - and all those sad, dark places we've been to - our scars are their celebration - there's so much pain in this one - and yet - the sun finally rises - maybe we're ready to see those hideous scars!

...
. those scars are more beautiful than tattoos ... i have a real tattoo ... ask emms ... it's more beautiful than hers ... in any case ... who told you you could be perfect? ... hideous is good ... adds to the charm ... you can be you ... just be ... milan kundera called it 'the unbearable lightness of being' ...

we forgot to think of ourselves
when time was whizzing past
now when we have time
we don't want to think

ghosts may not listen, but my dad has more to say to me since he died than he ever did when he lived . . .

and scars, those are just the lines that prove that we have been tested and emerged victorious, I call them marks of beauty
