somewhere

somewhere

A Poem by paul

somewhere right now waves are splashing
against seashores

romantic moonlit lovers
conspire in each others arms

people drive
like birds fly

the end of time waits
to swallow everything up

and I sit here
alone
diseased
dying
unloved

like the loneliest beggar in the streets.

once i had hopes
but I know better now

hopes don't last
and

even stars die.

There it is again... right in the gut. You have a talent for painting the picture and infusing it with the just the right words... diseased was the perfect choice.

I'm a sucker for a powerful last line, and this one did not disappoint.

you build shrines - in a silent reverie - every word - an epoch - every syllable - a slave - every pause - a shooting star - spinning yarns in the din of silence - there is sand on the beach - waiting to be nested in the toes of love - and it will, one day - it sure will!

. i wish life was more beautiful, more fair, and more full too ... but when you say it ... like you do ... stars crumble and fall ... trouble is ... the exceptional person is in a minority ... and hence ... love is too hard to find ... but ... if you let the universe know ... sometimes ... it responds ... and then one can still muck it up ... like i did ... but that's another story ...

it's a good thing you are loved, hopes are my specialty, I carry them right here in my hip pocket, and maybe stars die, but hopes never

Those lines were weeping,beseeching...almost made me choke with tears. You could not have said it more honestly, and more raw.
