the only fool

the only fool

A Poem by paul
"

me

"
to be fooled by time.
to be tricked by the sun.

writing can be like
jumping off a cliff

confident the words will catch you.

the smiling sun doesn t even care
and if you don t treat the words

just the right way
they ll abondon you just like
people

they ll run away like sunshine.

and when the whisky s gone along with your confidence

you realize the only fool
is you.

.
. ah, this is excruciating, coach ... so perfectly said ... with the perfect words ...

the poet craves
for words
to never know
his addiction
and his
withdrawal symptoms
for if they know, they might not stay
and like unpoetic people, just walk away

Very well written poem that makes the reader think about what you've written. Writing can be a dangerous thing. Perhaps an addiction that consumes us to a fault. Some of us are confident and experienced, others are just kidding themselves. I suppose the light of day has a tendecy to reveal some truths or errors. Just my take on it. Good job.

In a way your words are very true. Some statements will leave a permanent mark. In the history of time. Many were made fool's by saying foolish words. But the great writers like Mark Twain and Hemingway are needed to tell the world the truth about life and nature. I like this poem. We can be fool by words. But wasn't for the word men and woman. What type of world would we live in? Your poem was powerful and told a very good story. Never a fool for expressing the truth.
