A Poem by paul

Charles spoke in riddles
that defied rhyme

he dared the sun
and challenged the sky

to a game of chance

and the sun blinked
and the moon
didn t
even
notice

and a billion lonely lonelinesses
lined up from here to hell
is the road
he must walk

a life of nightimes
a day of
no sun

and the animals gnash their teeth
in the summer heat

the animals fight time
like a gladiator

it's on the long, hard, lonely walks where blisters mark the soles - it's during "a day of no sun" that loneliness seeps in - like a damp monster - that eats everything else - and then there's the lone star - that shines brightest - a sun of it's own - and verses are born - and somehow, they soothe the blistered soul

everyday I have them days with it all nightmares, no light and no sun just the darkness covers the land where I am. But if you close your eyes and think of nice things then darkness shall go and the good memories or happy things you think about come out to fight the dark shadows away.

Wonderful write

every time the sun blinks
the broken armor gathers chinks
and every rise of the tattered moon
is a verse that could never happen too soon!

- genius is charles - and so are you - mister master!!! -

. ohh, i so miss charles ...

charles was consumed
by an unrelenting universe
his riddles and rhymes
were always sublime
yet
loneliness took its toll
time parted with just a slug
and in the silence
of a silent moment
charles vanished
leaving behind
me
and my longing
i wish
charles belonged to me
and i wish
i belonged to charles too

Charless may be under-appreciated, I prefer unrhyming riddles myself.

Raining is a poet on the site that you'll want to read when you have a chance. Yes, he'll understand your words very well.
