Compromises

Compromises

A Poem by Patricia
"

Not everything in life should be done in compromises

"
You left grey, where there was black
I've had an atmosphere, but now it's wrecked
My secrets are gone, escaped through the lack
You gave me yours but they've had me hacked

You tried to recolour my world in vain
The cover smothered me like a bane
I wanted it to snow, but you kissed me in the rain
We wanted to meet, but we took the wrong lane

The souls you've thouched are haunting me
Their skin flakes like the bark of a tree
A compromise, I am not willing to be
Between white and black like trapped and free

Great use of words and thoughts. I could feel the disappointment and understanding in the words. I liked the use of color. Making the poem understandable for the reader. When whiteness turn to darkness. Freedom turn to cage. We will fade away and learn escape. A powerful poem for thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
