Ana Told MeA Poem by IxahThoughts that run around in those who suffer.I wake up, Some troubles on my mind Nothing major My feelings composed I make my way to the shower Passing the mirror along the way “Ewww, look at all that you’ve gained” “Shut up
Ana. I’m not listening” “But look at that stomach…” I tune her out from there I soak in the hot water Time passing by ever too quickly Once again, on my way back to my room I pass that same damn mirror “Look at those thighs” She hisses “I could have sworn I thought those were two Tree trunks, walking about the house” Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. I think. She doesn’t silence this time “Seriously, you can’t help but laugh.” She chuckles “You think you’re beautiful? You are far from it sweetheart. Why do you think no one notices you?” I’m lost for words. “Go ahead.” Ana urges “The mirror won’t lie. Promise.” I pause. Calculating what to do in my mind. I listen. “Come on Michelle; see if you can grab your stomach.” I obey. As I pinch my skin all over Tears welding up in my eyes. “Don’t cry, I’m here to comfort you.” Her voice has gone soft. “I promise you, you will never be fat. But you must listen to all that I say.” I wipe my eyes. Peering into the mirror, nodding. “I will
always listen to you Ana.” “I’m glad to hear that. With my help, You will be gorgeous, thin, and amazing” “Thank
you.” I turn and walk back to my room. I now know what I have to do. © 2010 Ixah |
