Bad Rose

Bad Rose

A Poem by Patrick Davies
"

For "The Girl" writing contest.

"

Bad Rose

Taken in through the nose -

Sprinkled with lemony powder.

Princess,

Accomplished with finesse,

Resist the evil witches trap.

But the pretty dust

Tastes so good.

Potent to the

Bright, young Princess.

With flowering lust

She inhales,

Dammning herself.

Her eyes roll back.

Bad Rose -

With new life force, it grows -

As the princess lies unconscious.

Princess,

Though Prince's lips caress,

Lies dead. Blood on eyes, nose and mouth.

The cruel witches curse,

Concocted

Deep in cauldron,

Burns with hellfire,

Feeding her blood thirst -

Corrupting,

Razing, killing...

...The young princess.

Tell you? About me? But what of the consequences? Oh God, the things they could do to my life if I handed it over... A background from which they could merge into the foreground - a window, an opening.. more..
