Wisdom

Wisdom

A Poem by Patrick Davies
"

Awareness. One of the most dangerous bombs on the planet. Are we all blind and wired into the bomb - impeded by it?

"

The old know

Whilst laughing in the face of liberation

From life - fast approaching.

The young don't,

As they scurry on in their denial.

What should become of them?

What will become of me?

Should I pity the mother

With her child?

And force aside the corruption,

Doubt

And disfigurement

From the front of my head

And those I hold dear -

Creating space for the child to grow?

I'll leave it laughing,

To return in shackles,

"GOD,

What if it breaks?

What if it all stops?

What if they rotate and point,

Turning their c***s

To skull-f**k me through the eyes?

Blinding me.

Rape the planet,

Bleeding from her core!"

They fear me now - what of then?

In school,

They taught me to be prejudice

And not to overdose on paracetamol -

Lest I bleed from the inside like our mother...

"Ah!

Then tell me teacher,

What will I use?"

The old know.

The young don't.

About
Tell you? About me? But what of the consequences? Oh God, the things they could do to my life if I handed it over... A background from which they could merge into the foreground - a window, an opening.. more..
