AIRA Poem by Sagar Patil
Air can flow as storms or silent calm breeze
Agile as serpents, with or sans hissing Ruffle the lovers' hair or it may uproot trees Beneath which they were kissing Move tunefully through pipes and drums To birth lyrical dulcet music Or ferry a virus - tiniest. but which numbs And makes a healthy man sick. It moved turbines and stars winked on earth It flew kites of joy for those boys Carried seeds with life, for new trees' birth And man's ever communing voice It summoned clouds; and lo, monsoons came; It gave flight to soaring birds, And to maniac man-the monkey mimicking them; In herds and herds of foolish nerds My feelings are like molecules of air Invisible but so, still there They help me grow and progress everywhere And then for some others care Those failures at art, caught in life's race Galloping towards a futile demise I pity the abundant emptiness of space And of vacant minds likewise © 2010 Sagar Patil |
