(A poem about choice.)![]() I am beginning to sympathize with the anti-vaxxers, because at least they know what autonomy is. There is no “your body, my choice” without a man behind it, no prison without bars to keep you in. They’ll use our bodies until we are nothing but, our inner shell crushed and shattered while they laugh and repeat their mantra. Does it count as losing your virginity if you beg him to stop? If you fight with everything you’ve got? Even if you scream and cry and hit and shout his name to the masses, they will still elect him president. The fruits of our labor are the children you ignore, the children you shoot and laugh at, the ones you call soft and sensitive. Snowflakes melt far too easily in a warming world. © 2025 pbAuthor's Note
