Broken Glass

Broken Glass

A Poem by Pat Kipkemoi
"

A slightly sad piece, from my melancholic soul :-)

"

I will never work right

That's why all the might

could never fix or mend,

The broken me that you try to tend,

I need that brokenness

because without it, I might leave the loneliness,

Without it I would believe

that I could live, that I could be happy,

And that you could love me enough,

make me fall.

Then I actually do stumble,

give myself to you knowing that I'll just tumble

For a while...happiness is seemingly enough,

and then I break,

I guess I'm not so tough.

Broken glass,

I need that broken glass...

Melancholy never takes a toll

on Broken glass.

"I will never work right."
That was a compelling first line. You have some striking passages that really get the point across. I feel, however, that the structure of the poem lost a little steam towards the end - the rhyme reads a little awkwardly.
Good piece though, I'd love to see more from you!
