Our Moment

Our Moment

A Poem by Pat Kipkemoi
"

Just a nostalgic piece about a certain someone. My first piece on Writers Cafe! :-)

"
Our Moment
Why is it that I can't have, I can't have you
The one I starve for,
I long and ache for your eyes
your touch
that sears through all the lies
my forbidden fruit that I crave
the guilty pleasure I can't waive
your lovely lips that caress
your eternal face that i need to possess
flesh on yielding flesh
deep and intertwining mesh
that moment,
will last until there's no more light
because i cannot let you,
i will not let you leave
my soul found its match
what we had
what could have been
don't forget what we meant
even only in that moment

congratulation for your first submission here. Well, this poem possess a strong admiration to someone through the use of the images such as forbidden fruit, and yielding flesh which by far works well to picture that level of passion you had to someone. However, since the poem started with some sort of loss, try to add images that convey that sense of loss. Since you already have image for the passion, adding pictures of loss and pain of not being together will strenghten the overall piece.
