the truth and nothing but

the truth and nothing but

A Poem by We May Well Be The Ones

I stared straight into a mirror
only to see that I haven't changed
my fingers, they are dirty
from all the drugs I've yet to erase
my body is tired of rising
I'd rather not wake up, this life isn't for me

well I burned all the hope left
there's nothing to see here
I've given up
there's no chance to escape this
no definite promise
there's nothing in me

I knelt down
with my palms to the carpet
the veins from my neck out
with every scream
my smile lines
hung like a sad sign
afraid of the sunlight
convicted to speech

well I burned all the hope left
there's nothing to see here
I've given up
there's no chance to escape this
no definite promise
there's nothing in me

You've perfectly portrayed your despair in this written piece of yours

I liked these lines:

"I knelt down
with my palms to the carpet
the veins from my neck out
with every scream
my smile lines
hung like a sad sign
afraid of the sunlight
convicted to speech"

Nice job!
