an elaborate collapse

an elaborate collapse

A Poem by We May Well Be The Ones
"

when I was younger

"

When echoes are all that I have I think then I’ll be scared

All they’ll be are faded memories , like a gas tank on empty

These eyelids of mine are heavy, there’s no oxygen in my lungs

As of late friends aren’t friendly, even with hope I’m alone

If marooned I’d be happy ‘cause then I could never disappoint

No more trials or disorder, no more pathetic life spent

Just the hours of thinking when my imagination is dead

I could dream of a good man, one I’ve never been

And the world wouldn’t exist except on islands of lust

We would steal all we could but stay humble of course

I am saddened with never becoming content

As humanity would have it my greed never rests

No more babies or bad people

Here, what I say goes

I’m a non beloved dictator in this skin I call a home

I can’t believe this is what life’s meant to be

This has an irresistible vibe to it.
