Insatiable Knight

Insatiable Knight

A Poem by Patricia Ponce

Insatiable Knight

Arising 'fore me from dreams' forbidden sands
an ever insatiable night's hunger
relentlessly courts mortality's hand
till recaptured his; cruel, fleeting... grandeur

Your clime laid on eagerly waiting sheets
having from plundered Gods breathing in
hence pupils' canvas...worshipped art, replete
star struck knight, cloaked twilight's volcanic skin

claiming maiden voyages sighed..whence dreamt
"Raffa " birthed muse named... spent wish, incarnate
pillager of man's ill-fulfilled desire
avenged; possessiveness' consuming fire

Déjà vu hours poetically bled
bewitching; the tasting of lust's homestead
