For today I changeA Poem by We are young.Optimistic and trueThis world will knock you down, with no one to help you up. You can suffocate under the pressure. Like I did. Yet I've once again managed. Some ounce of hope. The faith use to be this giant fire, that washed away the past and regret. It slowly went out one day, left me with a small ember. Crawling breathlessley on the ground. Running in circles, where do I go now? Instead of going toward the light, Instead of fighting the dark, I plunged into it. Getting soaked in misery and dispair. I pulled myself out only seeing some smoke, looking toward the light, my one once of hope. Debating on stopping on it, letting it die. Watch the smoldering fade. Because even if the light lead me, it also burned me. Instead though, I blew a breathe. Watching the tiny ember flicker into two. The two embers lead eachother, helping one another to burn, to last against the rain. And with just a little help the light came back. Engulfing me into freedom, and life. Sometimes hope comes in the strangest forms. When your about to give up, there is always one little ember alive, to lead you back, to where you know you belong. I found that today, and for today, I change
