Blood and Pain

Blood and Pain

A Poem by Zizi
"

A "poem" I wrote while I was "drunk"

"

My eyes reflect my lies,
You know I've found comfort in my knives.
But I pay no mind,
Behind this curtain is where I can hide.
I love the feeling
As the blade slides
Slicing past my skin in the depths,
The depths of my heart.
The pain, an endorphin
A drug, so beautiful
Tears dry up as my blood flows.
How long this will last, I do not know.
I want the pain.
So I cut past my vein;
Blood gush
Such a rush.
Beauty, not lasting.
No mind, it satisfies

Wow, that's a very dark poem, Zizi. It is well constructed with nicely chosen adjectives and metaphors. "Behind the curtain", "My eyes reflect my lies".

"The pain, an endorphin" is a very powerful line to show why people hurt themselves. Wanting the pain to get past the aching of the heart.

Pain, vein, gush, rush add to the "flowing" quick pace at the end as well chosen rhymes.

Good job. I wouldn't change a thing about this one.
