FlourishA Poem by parker
I have carefully tended these fields
And proudly I have watched them grow. I have watered and nurtured and nourished The seeds I have chosen to sow. I have rows upon rows here of friendships, Though not all have flourished the same, And even a small patch of heartaches I have been unable to tame. I have tall swaying stalks here of lessons, The blossoms of love bloom and dance. I have creeping vines here of memories And leafy green boughs of plans. I have carefully tended these fields Through each summer storm and winter snow. Try as you might to plant misery I'll never allow it to grow. © 2017 parker |
