Chills

Chills

A Poem by parker

It's the little things that make me smile.
You tease me about my random quirks,
and you remember my stories,
and you laugh at my jokes,
even when they aren't funny.
Sometimes that just makes you laugh more.

It's the little things that give me chills.
Taut muscles running through your arms,
the husky way you say my name,
an incidental too-brief touch
that may not have been so incidental
if you look into my heart.

It's the little things that drive me mad.
Your green eyes, when they look at her,
my inability to confess my thoughts,
the way that every time I convince myself
you're too hard to get and I start to walk away
you do something to trip me up
and make me fall in love all over again.

It's the little things that I can never say.
Please don't make me fall in love
unless it's your strong arms that will catch me.
Rest your eyes on mine
and you will see how much I love you.
Let me be your your other half
and we could make a whole new life.
