Posing

Posing

A Poem by parker

You look at me fondly,
find reasons to touch me,
but you always stay an inch away.

I love being with you,
in love with your big heart,
but that's not enough to make me stay.

I don't know what I want-
don't think I'm right for you-
but your eyes keep me here another day.

I think when you see me
 you see someone else here,
but she's part of your yesterday.

Still I think I'd like to
stop playing and kiss you,
but I can't predict what you would say.

So I'll just keep posing
and we'll just keep flirting
as all of our chances drift away.
