Call Me Alice

Call Me Alice

A Poem by parker

Call me Alice.
Alice of the Wonder Land.
Chasing daydreams
down their rabbit holes
Where I'm not meant to go,
Chasing dreams down in the frozen ground,
Dreams I'm not meant to know.

Call me Alice.
Alice of the Wonder Sand.
Grasping sunburst bright horizons
From the safety of the beach,
Grasping dreams of life and happiness,
Kept safely out of reach.

Call me Alice.
Alice of the Wonder Hands.
Spinning rhymes of happy endings,
Rhymes I never quite know how to end.
Spinning daydreams in my notebook
With time I never quite know how to spend.

Call me Alice.
Alice of the Wonder Man.
He's living just beyond this 3D world,
Where such perfect lies should live.
He's living just outside of this pale life
And what I wouldn't give...

Call me Alice.
Alice of the Wonder Land.
Chasing rabbits down their daydream holes
Where I'm not meant to go,
Chasing like I think I'll catch them,
Chasing like I didn't know.

Don't we all chase those dreams into territory we know we shouldn't go? Very honest account of the mind and thoughts that make us us and show our strengths and weaknesses in never quite knowing when or even if we will stop chasing those adventures. Very well written, with just a touch of beautiful introspection.
