Completely Different Things

Completely Different Things

A Poem by parker

I.
I know this is going to end.
I know that I have to let go.
But what I want
And what I know
Are two completely different things.

That sums up everything.

I once heard the phrase
"It's the end of an era."
It's true for me now.

I'm leaving my friends,
My family,
My home,
And my first love.

I'm scared to leave.
The world is still very big
And I am only one person.

But this is over,
And I have to let go.

II.
My friend, this is how it begins.
But first, dear, you have to believe.

What you will get,
Though not what you expect,
Will change your tears into bright smiles.

That sums up everything.

Have you heard the phrase
"Every end is a new beginning?"
It's true for you now.

You'll soon find new friends,
A deeper love,
A happiness that you've never known.

Do not be afraid.
The world's not so very large
For such a big hearted person.

Yes, this is over.
But look forward-
Your new life awaits.
