Caution

Caution

A Poem by parker

Be careful.
Don't look at me.
I'm an illusion.

I'm a smoke and mirrors princess.
I'm a trick of the eye in a tight dress.
I'm exactly what you want to see.
But on closer inspection that isn't me.

Be careful.
Don't touch me.
I'm a time bomb.

I'm a broken heart with a pretty smile.
I'm a hand grenade in the latest style.
The harder you try to hold me close,
the sooner you'll see I'm about to explode.

Be careful.
Don't love me.
I'm poison inside.

I'm wonderful til it starts to get hard.
I'm perfect until you let down your guard.
But sooner or later the suffering starts.
To love me is to lose a piece of your heart.
