She wrote it in footsteps

She wrote it in footsteps

A Poem by L

She said
"somewhere in this there is joy"
and stretched her fingertips
to snatch a moment
from the air;
which Forever lent down to kiss
and stained, eternally
red

She was
fleet-feet through sky grass
and tip-toed
dancing laughter
on the breath of wind

She shed
sun and darkness was a
wish; formless, void
of all but that which
broke its night

She spilled
light carelessly;
that flowed, flowered,
broke, and found
rest deep within

She wrote it
in footsteps
that the sea carried home

Great piece! I love the vivid imagery you put in this remarkably written piece. Amazing...

Sounds like someone's fling high... in dreams... then waking to find reality.

'She was
fleet-feet through sky grass'

the more i read this the more i liked it. love the way you describe her, poetic and immediate, i was left with a feeling of the sea gathering, of time standing still, of someone very beautiful and free :)
