Paper Daisies

Paper Daisies

A Poem by L

There's a field of paper daisies outside my house;
undoubtedly as real as I,
yet strangers simply pass it by.
The wind creates its colours as they sway,
and they,
with their beauty,
seem to call the very day.
Sometimes I wander wondering through it
and know the world has nothing to it;
among those paper daisies lie,
knowing just that time goes by
from the changing of the sky.
Sometimes I see you passing by;
silent,
as if you fear
that they'll draw near
and steal the waking hope you feel
like breath from your lips.
As briefly your gaze slips
my heart skips;
eyes reflecting only you
for maybe,
just
maybe,
you
can see it too

You write in such a fluid manner, expressing your thoughts as if painting on canvas. Does anyone ever see beauty the same way?

PD is beautiful soul searching poetry ... A soft and gentle flowing wind
flows throughout this poem. Also, wonderfully lyrical. Kudos, L!

This short piece is beautiful and the way that you long for someone else to see the beauty of what you created is something i can relate to. That simple longing to have someone to share our creations with is touching and reaches out to the reades soul. Brilliant writing and the rhyme scheme was well used as well.

'As briefly your gaze slips
my heart skips;'

i love the texture of the rhyme just drifting, peppered here and there, it read very naturally and the idea of the paper daisies, idealistic and then slightly sinister. a great poem.
