Elemental Escape

Elemental Escape

A Poem by L

And I grew tired;
dizzy from being thrown about
in the wind of whims
No longer sure where you stand
in a world that won't stop spinning
but knowing that I don't;
for the chaos carries me
and my feet have never touched the ground.

And I grew tired
of holding up the earth,
arms shaking from the weight of won't
And gravity grew tired,
tied to me
upon scorched earth;
our common ground

And I grew tired
of the fire that burned me up inside
All consuming flame of fear
And me; a little in love
with the warmth
Mesmerized by a burning boy,
doused in doubt

And I grew tired
of the sometimes depth;
heavy as an uncertain silence
And drowning in darkness,
my words floating through you
as the rain changes the sea
And all I need is unbreathed air

The elements whether man maded or natural definitely swirls us humans around & EE covers us with your blanket sentiment ... There are wonderful metaphoric phrases to die for: 'winds of whim','doused in doubt', "heavy as uncertain silence'... Loved the title.. Great phrase that matches a great poem. 100% poetry .. Good job, L

hahaha, we are all one, aren't we? This is great. Again you use elemental imagery so well with so much emotion.

'And I grew tired
of holding up the earth,
arms shaking from the weight of won't
And gravity grew tired,
tied to me
upon scorched earth;'

well this just blew me away, some gorgeous descriptions, i loved the image of holding up the world and i also thought this exceptional:

'a little in love
with the warmth
Mesmerized by a burning boy,'

and that's all before we reach the final stanza which is equally stunning. This is writing to be proud of.

I loved the diction and the emotion of this piece. You can feel the narrator's weariness through the repetition as well as the diction chosen.
Very well written.
