Skin Deep

Skin Deep

A Poem by L

I caught a thought for you
It was bright
Burning on my tongue
And mind for you
It fluttered in my fist for you
Forcing fingers
To splay lead on a page
Heavy, but oh
It was beautiful
And you
And you
It was beautiful
And vast
And we were tiny
Sitting before in splendid awe
If only
It could be
Anything more
Than a thought
Woven in
some far-off place
Then crushed between
Hands and fingers
And skin that say
No right or wrong to
Drag you from your
Trembling dream
Of fear
It isn't true

'It was bright
Burning on my tongue'

this is so much more than skin deep, your thoughts floating like little butterflies. i loved the light touch and the flow of ideas. fantastic.
