The canines of an orchid

The canines of an orchid

A Poem by Panos
"

the end of an affair (trasnlated form Greek)

"

Embraced his lust in a circular dance without steps,
a dance of self-substance
and the sole projector was fixed on them

the rest of the world was sunk in darkness

fatal attraction and repulsion together
in her refusal lied the revolution and the compromise
one step at a time
a spin and all over again
chaos or maybe not.

Embraced his lust and imagined wilted daffodils
reminiscing about their reflection

and darkness all around smashes his self-restraint

sounds of broken bones
something dies here even though it smiles smugly
  with
futile hope of rebirth
another step in the dark
maybe it is he who dies, maybe not

Embraced his lust and he gave her names plucked from stories with happy endings
as it was in his arms, he had to comply
with the darkness around him, light was his only protection
since the dance will eventually end, it would have to last enough
since his was not sure of the steps, the meteor should be considered solid

the projector began to flicker
nothing lasts long and long enough
darkness wears the mantle of the official host
and invites him, him and his lust
to the world with the sounds of broken bones

something dies here even though it smiles smugly

with futile hope of rebirth
