Stand

Stand

A Poem by Flora

I heard a whisper in my ear.

Stirring a spark into a flame.

Hope I hadn't felt in years.

Within my soul awakened again.

I sought a love I'd only dreamed of.

A dream I knew so very well.

To find peace inside the chaos.

To find a heaven instead of hell.

He told me I am always with you.

He said, your fighting days are done.

Rest in me and I will guide you.

Down the road, safely home.

All the years of doubts and worry.

All the fears I'd tried to hide.

Disappeared with sweet surrender.

Daily dying, yet never more alive.

Oh if the world could only witness.

The changes only he can bring.

Know the sacrifice of innocence.

The ressurection of the King.

It is up to me to share his love.

To show Christ in my life.

To show a better way,

A help from all the pain and strife.

Today is fastly fleeting.

Tomorrow may not come.

So many people dying.

Lost and never finding home.

So I ask each blessed Christian

To step forward for all the world to see.

Yet knowing that the first step.

Has to begin with me.

So I take my shield and breastplate.

Put God's sword in my right hand.

And with my Savior right beside me.

Let the world know where I stand.
