Better Now

They say that I’m better now. That’s the phrase. Better now. And really, that shows how amazing the English language can be. How compact and dense words can be. How easily a thought or a series of thoughts can be conveyed. Better now. I laugh.

What it means. It means that I am better now and I was not better before. I am on the upswing. I am moving away from rock bottom. I am changing. I have improved over time.

But what else? It means that I am not best. I am not yet at my peak. I am no anomaly. I am nothing special. Yet.

But I wait. I wait.
