We may not be the happiest couple.

We may not cheer up each others day.

We may not be the people that we want each other to be.

But we accept.

Because there is something greater than that.

Greater than happiness.

Greater than trust.

Greater than Us.

We make each other think.

About everything.

About the world.

About ourselves.

About each other.

And that...That I believe is true love.

True love is the ability to look at each other and think

“I want to help you.

I want to free you.

I don’t want to limit you.”

We have made each other

happy,

angry,

sad,

mad,

and all of those emotions.

And we don’t expect each other to make us feel a certain way,

or to take each other’s side.

We are different.

Different enough so that we can power each other.

Different enough so that we are always learning from each other

and viewing the world in unique ways.

Ways that we would be blind of otherwise.

So what is love again?

What do I mean when I say "I love you"?

I mean that I want to look at the world

through your eyes

and understand how you see it.

And I want to help you see more.

Because you want to see more.

And because we share this connection.

This symbiotic relationship that can propel us forward to greater heights.

Look at me now,

injured and hurt.

Cry because you are afraid for me.

But because of love, the cause was just.

I’ve done it for you.

I’ve freed you a bit more.

And I am not limited.
