Bad Weather

Bad Weather

A Chapter by Split Voices
"

First appearance of Split Sir as the narrator. The couple drives around.

"

"The clouds don’t care," she observed.

"Oh come on, don’t say that." I said.

"No, honestly, look at them! They could float around the world and add to some major storm. They could be a part of a hurricane or a…or a tornado or something…"

She looked silently at the clouds and her resentment radiated throughout the car. I turned on the radio and calmly searched through the stations for something upbeat. She didn’t noticed. Her eyes were fixed on the clouds. Her body was in the car. But she was away, in the past. Searching through the radio stations wasn’t meant to pull her back so much as it was meant to help me come to term with the fact that she wasn’t coming back until she relived it again. The thing that scared me those days was that I related with what she said. Not because my own experiences in life were comparable but because she was so easy to empathize with. I didn’t want to tell her that she was wrong then. I just tried to avoid it. So we kept driving.
