Embracing the Dark

General ruminations. Lady Dark Side's first appearance.

What is light,
she thought.

People spend most of their time together during the day.
At night, they gather together under the light of a chandelier.
They are attracted to it.
Like moths. 

She chuckled to herself.

What an image!
People-moths.
Light-worshipers.
Ridiculous really, because what is light?

Light,
light serves only to fill in the darkness.
Like a sun in space.
Not space itself.
Light is meant as a distraction.
To fill in the void.
The overwhelming certainty that no matter how bright it shines,
the light will vanish into the darkness.
And most people aren’t even the light!
They are the light followers!
They follow what is bound to be squashed out by nothingness.

She sat with that for a moment, before she stood up to leave.
Good thing I’m already on the winning side, she thought.
