SlippingA Poem by brenda conjelkoShe
feels him slip away and his heat leaves her body as
his weight moves aside.
In
one motion they
are on the floor struggling
gracelessly into clothes and
counterfeit conversation.
They
collect themselves preparing to leave walking carefully, calmly down
the steps from her room.
With
every footstep, her
heart hammers with the realization that
she'll only be meant for stolen moments and
so many will be spent watching
him walk away. © 2014 brenda conjelkoReviews
