When I was a little girl

When I was a little girl

A Poem by Pandy7197
"

Written in a childlike format, taking me back to my childhood, and the innocence and comfort I had in my Grandpa!

"

When I was a little girl

You told me I could be whatever I wanted

An astronaut if I pleased

When I was a little girl

You told me that we would always be

You left me alone

When I was a little girl

We played games and watched TV

All day the cartoons

When I was a little girl

We played tea party

You even wore a dress for me

When I was a little girl

Things were so free

I loved it being so easy

Things have changed

Now I'm not

I'm not a little girl

Growing up has to take strength. It was hard for me, and I don't expect to see a child grow up as fast as I did, nor I would want them to. Now you must carve your own name in this stone we stand on.
