Cold Coffee

Cold Coffee

A Poem by Pandora E.
"

One of my personal favourites, I hope you enjoy.

"
I may not be as good
as the coffee
that stains your lips
and carries you throughout the day

And I may not be as good
as the sunset's reflection
on a warm summer evening

But at 6am
I will turn towards you
and plant my lips
on the bridge of your sun-kissed nose
and softly kiss your fluttering eyelids.
I will trace the contours of your lips
with achy calloused fingertips
simply because I love you.

I may not be as good,
but I promise you
I will try my hardest to be enough.
