My Leprechaun

My Leprechaun

A Poem by Alexis L. Thompson

My leprechaun's a lovely boy.
My leprechaun's a saint.
He's not the kind to hoard the gold
because greedy is what he aint.

He loves corn beef and cabbage
and loves to wear a kilt.
And no he's not too tiny.
You may say he's built.

His favorite color is purple.
I know that may seem weird.
He's got beautiful eyes
and a small, red, scruffy beard.

My leprechaun's my boyfriend
as Irish as can be.
He's the one and only
little leprechaun for me.
